New Quality Drop: The DAO Anthology by Quorum ππ
The DAO Anthology: A book of curated essays exploring the Theory, Practice, and Future of DAOs.
We're thrilled to introduce a Quality Drop from one of the first groups to ever identify as a metalabel.
Quorum is a metalabel led by Samantha Marin and Brandon Nolte exploring the theories, practices, and future of DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations). Sam and Brandon were inspired to bring together two individual projects exploring the same topic after learning about the concept of a metalabel. You can read more about their journey here.Β
Today that journey is coalescing into what may prove to be a seminal new release: The DAO Anthology zine.
Dropping today: the DAO Anthology zineΒ
The DAO Anthology is a new collection curated by Quorum that brings together more than twenty of the most important and influential essays about DAOs to date.
The publication highlights a curated selection of influential canonical writing on DAOs, and preserving them in print. Among the 21 writers collected in this anthology are Li Jin, Other Internet, Patrick Rivera, and more. All graciously agreed to add their writing to this work.
Although the essays within the zine are about internet-native topics, the choice to create a physical printed zine was a considered choice of offline preservation.
βThe half life of an article on the internet is so short that a lot of great pieces get buried and lost," Samantha Marin of Quorum tells us. "The internet should be better at preserving artwork. But because of the sheer volume of whatβs put on the internet every day, in some ways itβs worse."
The zine, designed by Daniel Bromberg, highlights writing about DAOs in three sections.
β’ Theory: why we build what we build
β’ Practice: experiments and ideas
β’ Future: lessons and speculations on what DAOs could become
