New Creative Era: a new podcast with Josh Citarella and Yancey Strickler
A new Metalabel release exploring creative practices
Today we're introducing New Creative Era, a podcast collaboration between artist Joshua Citarella (Doomscroll, Do Not Research) and writer Yancey Strickler (Metalabel, Kickstarter) exploring how creative people release work and develop their practices.
Each thirty-minute episode is a candid discussion between two creative people trying to figure it out themselves. The same conversations we’re having with our creative friends and each other, we’re having here.
Episode One drops today, focusing on how to build meaningful context around your releases. Future episodes will explore pricing, releasing strategies, collaboration, platforms, creative economics, and more.

The Artist’s Way Exercises — Notion templates
By EMPOWA
Artist EMPOWA has taken the structure and teachings of the iconic The Artist’s Way and turned them into a tool anyone can use to develop their creative practice. The template makes a special area in Notion for Morning Pages and other creative rituals, transforming intention into action and results. Clever, nearly free (just $5), and the work of an artist supporting their fellow artists. More than 1,000 collectors in the first 72 hours. Watch her video introduction and collect your edition.
Girl Intelligence
By Alex Quicho
Our friends at Aksioma are back with a new title that pushes open the walls of perception and encourages us to look at our world and technology with fresh eyes. In Girl Intelligence, London-based writer Alex Quicho unpacks the archetype of “Girl” and conjugates and explores its boundaries and dimensions across settings and circumstances. Brainy, insightful, and wry, and of course elegantly produced and curated by Aksioma. Just $5!
Multi-Touch Paintings
By Evan Roth
The second release from painter Evan Roth is part mundane performance, part nostalgia. A glimpse into a larger series of works that are sometimes blown to grand proportions, "Multi-touch Paintings" turns everyday phone gestures (RIP swipe to unlock) into gentle artifacts that remind us nothing is safe from becoming obselete.
Hard Imagination
By Hard Art
Three troublemakers — an art activist, a systems thinker, and a design rebel — get together in an abandoned London club to figure it out. A new "dark white paper" from our favorite culture jammers at Hard Art that brings together creative giants Clare Farrell, Indy Johar, and David Johnston to reimagine venture capitalism as a tool to create “togetherness” rather than extraction. Available in extremely limited physical form and digitally for free.
Finds from the crate
For our fellow crate-diggers (we know who we are), here are ten of our favorite recent finds delivered in text-only, quick-hit capsules:
Shhh! Just a couple Eggs are still available. Get one while you can.
A long-form critical essay released as a physical text, then instantly sells out.
Digital + physical cut-and-paste zine and artwork from a squad of friends. Good energy.
This feels like the social media of an alternative future where we all live happily ever after.
A great cover of a melancholy Chris Bell (ex-Big Star) song by two women with excellent taste.
Worth the click and collect just to see the video of Earth and Venus swimming in a sea of stars.
Enjoy the podcast!
